My personal story

I am a firm believer that the challenges that life presents us are complex enough to have to be tackled alone. What motivates me the most are quality conversations focused on results and as a fan of human interaction, teaching and counseling, I like to contribute to the development of people and organizations. Although my background Academic is broad and oriented to the world of business administration my professional focus has always been leaders, their teams and the people who are part of them. Convert talent into results by aligning people with business.

I consider myself a giver and actively cultivate my network personal and professional. Throughout my career I have been working to achieve social recognition based on years of professional seriousness.

Despite feeling like a citizen of the world, I am Salvadoran by birth, Catalan at heart, Spanish by nationality and Mexican by adoption. I was born and raised in a large family concerned with culture and good work. The son of doctors, in engineering and medicine, I grew up immersed in a culture of learning, personal improvement, entrepreneurship and contribution through teaching and advising.

My career

I was always more in love with learning itself than with the study process. My education took place between Spain, the United States, Mexico and Argentina, and what really marked my experience was the deep conviction that learning should be a constant companion throughout my life. As time went on, that flame was fueled even more by my growing passion for reading.

Now, I can safely say that I consider myself a passionate and avid reader.

At some point in my life, I decided to change the passion for the responsibility of personal development. As Nathanael Emmons mentions, “"we first make our habits and then our habits make us". This change marked an important milestone in my path, leading me to a discipline of learning and growing, recognizing that it is our daily actions that truly shape who we become.

My first job, outside of my experience in the family business, was in the consulting division of EY in Barcelona. There, I managed to advance quickly to reach the position of Manager. It was an invaluable experience in an excellent organization that provided me with development opportunities that I knew how to take advantage of.

Subsequently, I faced one of the biggest professional challenges of my life by assuming the role of Managing Director in the training and development company that my father had founded twenty-five years earlier. His serious and lethal illness led me to replace him and assume this leadership, becoming quite an emotional and professional challenge. For more than two decades, I led the company, expanding it to five Latin American countries.

When the financial crisis forced me to rethink and define a new mission and strategy, it was born Human Performance. From training and development, we evolved towards consulting on talent and organizational efficiency. From considering training and development as an end to using them as a means, aligning people and business, converting talent into results. Today, the mission of Human Performance is to help our clients have the quantity and quality of talent necessary to face the challenges derived from their strategies. This new chapter represents a renewed commitment to growth and excellence in the organizational field.

Currently, in addition to being a Founding Partner of Human Performance, I am dedicated to comprehensive talent management and organizational efficiency working as an advisor, senior management coach, consultant and speaker directly with Boards of Directors, Management Committees and members of the C-Suite in issues related to the quality of leadership, organizational culture and key talent management.

Finally, let me share with you that I have almost forty years of professional experience, which is not the same as one year's experience repeated forty times.

I am grateful to be what I am thanks to my life partner and wife, Isabel and my three children.
